Apple Pay made its media premiere in a new commercial from Chase Bank. The commercial features indie band Bleachers using their Chase Freedom credit cards on the Apple Pay platform.
Chase wanted to set themselves apart from other Apple Pay partners by showcasing small shops in their ad, as well as promoting the use of their small business services. The band members are seen using Apple Pay at a hair salon and at an instrument repair shop.
"We've been working with Apple for a long time--over a year--on this partnership. We thought about their values as well as ours, and we both focus on our customers," Susan Canavari, Chase's Chief Brand Officer, told AdAge.
The commercial is not the only effort Chase has made to partner with Apple Pay. Recently, the bank offered customers a free copy of David Guetta's latest album to people who added a Chase credit card or debit card to their Apple Pay accounts.
The new ad is now available on YouTube in a 90 second format, and it will be shown on CBS, NBC, Fox, ABC and ESPN during prime time shows in a 30 second format.
