Autofill Credit Card Info on Facebook

Facebook launched a new mobile shopping opportunity that allows users to connect credit cards to their social accounts. As a result, Facebook will automatically fill in the credit card numbers for online purchases, per the request of the user.

This is all done through an "Autofill with Facebook" button, which will be available through Facebook retail partners. At the moment, that means users can only use it at Jack Threads and Mosaic.

In theory, this new option is supposed to simplify the way Facebook users shop online. They don't have to go through the manual process of entering their credit card information. They can do so with the tap of a button.

The question is, do you trust Facebook with your credit card information? Considering how easily people hack into each other's accounts, you have to wonder whether if this is completely secure and a smart thing to do.

It seems that Facebook is making its best efforts at branching into mobile wallets, much like Apple and Google. As time progresses, the social networking giant is sure to pick up new partners and expand this idea, but for now, it is still in its infancy.

Watch your favorite store apps to see if an "Autofill" button comes up in the near future. It may be closer than we think.
